Lance Soares

Has been studying the martial arts for 25 years and is the Owner and Director of Training at Lance Soares' Family Martial Arts Center. He is a 4th Degree black belt and first generation student of Lee Wedlake Jr., 9th Degree Black Belt and first generation student of the late Edmund K. Parker Sr.

He opened his first commercial Martial Arts Studio in 1992 and has since helped countless students become more successful in their lives through Kenpo Karate training. Mr. Soares in his early years of training competed in numerous tournaments consistently placing in the top ten.

Some of Mr.Soares’ accomplishments are:

• Has the rare distinction to have met and participated in numerous seminars throughout New England with the founder and Senior Grand Master of the system, Edmund K. Parker Sr. gaining first hand knowledge of the art he teaches.
• Competed at the world famous International Karate Championships in Long Beach, California.
• Established the Armed Forces Recreational Kenpo Club-Bosnia, instructing members of his unit and neighboring units in Parker Kenpo.
• Worked with the New Bedford Women's Shelter and the Dartmouth and New Bedford Police Departments offering free Women's Self Defense Seminars to the public.
• Was selected to be a Defensive Tactics Instructor for the Guardian Angels
• Is a Nationally Registered Paramedic (NREMT-P) and is licensed to practice in Massachusetts.
• Is an American Heart Association (AHA) CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support as well International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Instructor certifications.
• U.S. Army veteran.
